Dare to Fail

I hate failure more than anything else in life. It hurts to fail.

At the same time, I’ve learned more through my failures than through my successes. Lessons learned through failure are some of the most invaluable lessons you could possibly garner in life. Failure teaches you in ways success can’t. It shapes you as a person. It makes you resilient. As long as you can improve through each successive failurethen you’ve created a stronger platform for eventual success.

For me, accepting failure has brought me that much closer to success. It results in breakthroughs that can only be experienced when you let your guard down and stop trying so hard to impress others. This is where the “good stuff” lies – those things that distinguish you from everyone else and gives you your unique identity. By this, I’m referring to specific things which are personal to you and you only. At first, they can be challenging to communicate. But the harder you try, the closer you will come to identifying your true voice.

For many successful people, failure is a motivating force. As John Cassevetes once said, “You have to dare to fail.” When I read about successful people I’m inspired by their tenacity, courage and will to pursue their dreams.
